Micron will release a PCIe version 4.0 SSD. The main distinguishing feature of the drive is the small dimensions of 30 × 22 mm with a volume of 2 TB.
The disk model was named Micron 2400. It includes 176-layer QLC NAND memory. Compared to previous SSD models of the brand, this drive managed to achieve a 23% increase in efficiency. The sequential read and write speeds will be 4500 and 4000 megabytes per second, and the resource consumption (TBW) will be up to 600 TB.
In addition, the company emphasizes that the novelty will have half the power consumption in standby mode compared to previous drives. This will provide an opportunity to increase the battery life of laptops that will be equipped with new SSDs. Micron is also looking to sell lower-end drives in 512GB and 1TB (TBW 300 and 150TB). It is also planned to release models with dimensions of 22×42 and 22×80 mm.
The release dates and price tag for the new SSDs will be announced later.
