Meta has made a new version of Messenger available to the public, with improved data transfer security aspects. We are talking about the emergence of end-to-end encryption for calls and chats. Previously, this solution was used for message forwarding.
In the new version, in addition, there is an option to notify about screenshots of disappearing messages. Previously, this feature only existed in Vanish Mode. Chats also got support for GIFs, stickers, and reactions. Other new features include support for replies, input indication, and redirection. Users will also be able to upload files and process videos before publishing.
The above updates did not become something revolutionary, since in one form or another they were already present on the platform. But for chats with end-to-end encryption, they are used for the first time.
End-to-end encryption starts multi-platform deployment for all users. Public access to them will be provided within a few weeks.
