The Google I/O event will be held online on May 11-12, and more and more insiders are appearing on the network regarding the products that will be presented at it. The company is rumored to introduce an affordable Pixel, smartwatches and more.
Pixel 6a
The device will be a stripped-down version of the flagship Pixel 6. The smartphone will get a nice design, long-term software support and impressive photo capabilities. Early insiders reported that the gadget will receive a 6.62 ″ OLED screen with FHD + resolution and a 90 Hz scan. The front 8-megapixel Sony IMX355 camera will be located in the middle at the top of the display. Under the screen there will be a fingerprint scanner for unlocking.
The smartphone will work on the basis of its own Google Tensor GS101 platform, which is also available for the older models of the line. The device will receive 6 GB of RAM and 128 GB of permanent memory. Two modules will be responsible for photos and videos in the Pixel 6a: the main 12.2-megapixel IMX363 and the ultra-wide-angle 12-megapixel IMX386. These modules have already appeared in smartphones of previous generations.
The device will be equipped with a 4800mAh battery with 30W fast charging support. It is also known that the twelfth version of Android will be preinstalled on it. There is no pricing information for the Pixel 6a yet.
Nest Hub
One of the interesting gadgets that will be presented at the conference is the new generation of Google Nest Hub smart screens. Probably, the device will receive a modular design - the screen will be separated from the stand and speaker, so that it can be used as a tablet.
Nest Hub will position itself as a solution for videoconferencing and smart home. The device will receive an improved interface with new features, Android 12 and a proprietary Google Play application marketplace.
Pixel Watch
According to insider information, the first smart watch from Google will be presented at the I / O conference. The device will work on Wear OS 3.0, the interface images of which are already on the network. They show the "Google Assistant" and a step counter, hinting at the integration of the accessory with devices of the Fitbit brand, acquired by Google several years ago. Perhaps the watch will get more sports features and settings.
In addition, the watch will support the branded messenger “Messages”, since the screenshots show the application interface with an avatar and username, current time and recent messages. The image also shows the main menu, where you can create a new chat or go to existing ones. The watch is designed to work with Google Pay, YouTube Music and Google Calendar, synchronization with which will allow you to display current tasks and events planned by the owner of the device.
Android 13 and other updates
More information about Android 13 is also expected at I/O. It is likely that the company will present the first beta version of the OS. Google will also tell you about updates to its proprietary services.
