The network has information about the imminent release of an improved version of the Snapdragon 8 Gen 1 chipset from Qualcomm, which solved the problem of overheating and increased performance. The release of the processor should take place in June with the release of new smartphones.
According to sources, Qualcomm Snapdragon 8 Gen 1 Plus will receive a 10% increase in performance compared to the original chipset. The architecture of the 4nm processor will consist of a Cortex-X2 main core, a trio of high-performance Cortex-A710s, and four energy-efficient Cortex-A510s. It is assumed that the first devices with new chips will be Xiaomi 12 Ultra and OnePlus 10 Ultra.
Qualcomm tried to fix the overheating and subsequent throttling of the original Snapdragon 8 Gen 1, and with the transition to the TSMC pipeline, they managed to do it. In addition, Snapdragon 8 Gen 1 4G is also expected to be released in June, which will presumably be used in HUAWEI devices. The Chinese company previously used the Snapdragon 888 4G processor in the Mate XS 2, so the upcoming Mate 50 may well use the 4G configuration of Qualcomm's latest chipset.
Along with the above, there are rumors that OPPO Reno8 with a simplified Snapdragon 7 Gen 1 platform may be presented in June, but this information has not been confirmed.
