The Macworld website compared the M2 processor installed in the MacBook Air (2022) with the rest of the company's solutions. The study involved smartphones, tablets, laptops and desktop PCs.
Experts compared the capabilities of processors using the Geekbench benchmark. According to the results of the study, it turned out that the M2 is more powerful than the mobile Bionic A13 (iPhone 11, iPhone SE second generation, iPad ninth generation) and the current Bionic A15 (iPhone 13 line, iPhone SE third generation, iPad mini sixth generation) in 2.7 and 1.9 times respectively. If we compare the M2 with the M1 chip, then the performance gain is 15%.
When compared with the currently most powerful processor Apple M1 Ultra, the novelty loses three times in power. At the same time, M2 has a much lower power consumption, and the brand always pays attention to this parameter during presentations of its own products and comparing them with solutions from competing vendors.
