Enthusiast reveals camera specs for upcoming Google devices
The Pixel 7 and Pixel 7 Pro were announced back at the May I/O 2022 event, but so far very little is known about them. But developer Cuba Wojciechowski (@Za_Raczke) learned the details about the cameras of future smartphones by studying the Google code.
So, Cuba found out that in both devices, the ISOCELL GN1 sensor is used as the main 50 MP camera matrix. The wide-angle lens in the devices is also the same, it is the IMX381 matrix. The older model is equipped with a 48 MP Samsung GM1 sensor. The front cameras of smartphones are identical to the solution used in the Pixel 6 Pro, here the 11 MP Samsung 3J1 sensor will be used. The code also contains information about a mysterious smartphone codenamed Lynx. This device may be used for closed tests. Lynx has a main camera with a 50MP ISOCELL GN1 sensor, as well as a 12MP wide camera with an IMX363 sensor and another IMX386 sensor. The selfie camera uses a 13MP IMX712 sensor.
According to the developer, he also revealed data about the cameras of the future folding device from Google. The device will receive a 50 MP main camera with an ISOCELL GN1 sensor, as well as two auxiliary sensors IMX363 and IMX386 with a resolution of 12 MP each. For the front camera, an 8-megapixel IMX355 sensor will be used.
Cuba also found out what kind of cameras the Pixel Tablet, due out in 2023, will have. The device will receive the main and front cameras at 8 MP, both will be equipped with an IMX355 matrix.
