The James Webb device sent a fresh photograph, in which experts found a unique object. We are talking about the star Earendel, located at a colossal distance from our planet of 12.9 billion light years. Scientists shared their findings on Twitter.
Earendel is interesting primarily for its age. According to experts, the star existed already in the 1st billion years after the Big Bang. It is not so easy to see the object in the photo, because it looks like a small pale dot. Prior to this, Earendel had already fallen into the lens of the Hubble telescope, but that image had a much lower resolution.
This is not the first time James Webb has photographed remarkable space objects. Previously, he captured the oldest galaxy known to mankind, as well as the rings of Jupiter and one of its satellites in the IR range.
