Google is experimenting with a new search page design. Not all users liked it
The IT giant has launched a limited beta test of its updated search engine. The developers have changed the classic interface for the sake of minimalism. Now, instead of the previous sections like "Pictures" or "News", the search page now features query-expanding hints. Be that as it may, not all test participants liked this innovation.

Screenshots have already leaked to the Internet, which show that the choice of search categories has been replaced with the ability to add the required tag from the proposed list, created automatically. For example, if you enter “Smartphones” in the search bar, the user will see tips with a price category, brand, and search for online stores. The new design looks almost identical in the mobile version of the search engine.

Updated design

Some users criticized the new decision of Google. They did not like the unusual appearance of the search engine, they also got the inaccurate work of the dice that replaced the traditional tabs. For example, users in the United States saw hints about the cost of devices in Indian rupees. In addition, sorting by the release date of materials has disappeared, which negatively affects the accuracy of the selection.

At the moment, the new search engine interface can be tested by a limited number of users in testing mode. Whether Google will make the updated version of the search engine the main one is not yet clear.
