Rumor: the next iPhone SE will lose its compact body size
iPhone SE was positioned as a more affordable and compact alternative to flagship devices. However, the new device, according to insiders, may lose its compactness, as Apple plans to replace the design of the iPhone 8 with an enlarged body of one of the other outdated models.
Authoritative reviewer Jon Prosser reports that the upcoming iteration of the iPhone SE will get a body from the iPhone XR. Externally, the device is similar to current devices, the difference lies only in the ends and the camera. The display of the smartphone has a wide cutout for the front camera and Face ID sensor. The main camera has only one sensor.
The screen size of the iPhone XR is 6.1" while the latest iPhone SE is 4.7". The XR is 12mm taller, 8mm wider, and 1mm thicker, and weighs 50g more than the SE.
When the new iteration of the iPhone SE will be released is difficult to predict, since the budget iPhone is released irregularly. The first version of the smartphone was released in 2016, the second - in 2020, the third - in 2022.
