One of the interesting features of the new Google smartphones was shared at the last presentation.
The technology is called Photo Unblur. With its help, smartphones can independently retouch fresh photos and improve even the pictures already in the Google Photo gallery.
So far, the feature is only available for Pixel 7 and 7 Pro devices with the Tensor G2 chipset. This processor has a dedicated computing unit based on the work of artificial intelligence, with the help of which the amount of digital noise and “blurring” in the photo is reduced. This improves the clarity and detail of the picture. Google also ensures that this feature will be used for new photos, especially those taken in low light, to reduce their post-processing time.
In 2021, Google already introduced a similar technology called Face Unblur. Using multiple exposure, the feature made the faces in the photos more clear, even if there was blur in part of the photo. However, this technology differs from Photo Unblur in that it cannot correct the quality of pictures already in the smartphone's gallery.
