Samsung Electronics will partner with TV manufacturers including Atmaca, HKC, Tempo, Bauhn, Linsar, and more. All of these vendors will be able to install the Tizen OS ecosystem into their products.
Products of the above firms based on Tizen OS will appear on the markets of Europe and Asia. In addition, Samsung will continue to work with partner firms to license content and optimize hardware performance for its proprietary TV operating system, enabling third-party vendors to take full advantage of the ecosystem.
The Tizen OS platform was introduced by Samsung and the Linux Foundation in 2012, and has already been used by about 200,000,000 users from almost 200 countries around the world. The ecosystem provides users with a large number of channels as part of the Samsung TV Plus streaming service, the Universal Guide recommender system, and the Samsung Bixby voice assistant.
