The Pro version of the Cupertino brand's tablet received minimal changes. The main one was the transition to M2 processors, which were already used in laptops.
New items are presented in two sizes with displays with a diagonal of 11" and 12.9". The tablet with smaller dimensions received a standard screen with an LED matrix, maximum brightness of 600 nits and an adaptive refresh rate of up to 120 Hz. The older model already has a mini-LED matrix with a maximum brightness of up to 1600 nits and 2596 local dimming zones. The tablets will have five memory modifications: 128 GB, 256 GB, 512 GB, 1 TB and 2 TB. Devices are available either exclusively with WiFi 6E or with optional 5G support.
The powerful new Apple M2 processor has eight CPU cores and ten GPU cores. The amount of RAM for models of 128, 256 and 512 GB is 8 GB, and for 1 and 2 TB - 16 GB. Thanks to the characteristics of the chip, the speed of working with video in ProRes will increase three times.
Tablets with the Pro prefix did not receive other changes. They still have four Dolby Atmos speakers, five studio-quality microphones, and support for the 2nd generation Apple Pencil. For photo and video shooting, the main camera is 12 MP with an assistant in the form of an “ultra-wide” 10 MP. For selfies and video calls, there is a 12 MP wide-angle front camera with face recognition. Charge your tablet, connect accessories, or transfer data using the USB Type-C port with transfer rates up to 40 Gbps.
The start of sales will take place on October 26. The smallest version of the device with a screen 11", 128 GB of memory and WiFi 6 will cost $799, while for the same version with 5G you will have to pay $200 more. The 2 TB version with WiFi only will cost $1899, and with 5G - in $2099. The older 12.9-inch tablet with 128 GB and WiFi will cost $1099, and with 5G - already $1299. The top modification with 2 TB storage and support for 5G received a price tag of $2399.
