An interesting device was presented by a Chinese company at the World VR Conference 2022. The device looks like a VR headset, but it lacks a processor, memory, and other elements that would make it autonomous from other gadgets. The most important part of the accessory is the screen.
The HUAWEI Vision is about the size of regular glasses. Communication with the signal source is made through a cable with a USB Type-C connector.
The device received two displays with an OLED matrix with a resolution of 1920×1080 pixels. During operation, the displays form one virtual screen, the diagonal of which is comparable to a 120" display. The maximum screen brightness is 480 nits, the coverage of the DCI-P3 color space is 90%. Other useful features of the glasses include diopter adjustment and built-in speakers.
The HUAWEI Vision is already available for pre-order in China and is slated to go on sale in December. The cost of the glasses is not yet known, but you can be sure that they will be much cheaper than classic VR headsets.
