iAppleBytes portal specialists tested the autonomy of several iPhone models after the release of iOS 16.1.1.
The release of unscheduled updates to iOS 16.1.1 and iPadOS 16.1.1 took place last week. The developers have fixed some aspects related to security and not only.
After the release of iOS 16.1, a number of users complained about a significant decrease in autonomy. Therefore, the iAppleBytes portal took up the test. The iPhone models used in testing were 8, XR, SE (2nd generation), 11, 12, and 13. All devices were 100% charged, the screen brightness was 25%, and auto-adjustment was disabled. Also, testing was carried out after 30 hours after installing the OS update, which was done to complete all background processes. We measured autonomy through the Geekbench benchmark.
As a result, the testers found that the autonomy of the iPhone 8, XR, 12 and 13 models after installing the iOS 16.1.1 update slightly decreased, while on the SE and 11 models it increased slightly. The graphs show that the autonomy results in the benchmark vary depending on the OS version, but in general, after the release of iOS 16, a positive jump in this parameter is noticeable.
At the moment, Cupertinians are working on iOS 16.2 and iPadOS 16.2. Their release should occur before the end of 2022.
