Qualcomm intends to compete with Apple Silicon processors
The vendor continues to develop an ARM processor for personal computers that will compete with Apple M-series chips. Recently, a list of some technical specifications of the processor under the code name Hamoa became known.

Insider information from the Winfuture resource says that Qualcomm has begun testing two SoCs under the designations SC8380X and SC8380XP. They are probably based on the Snapdragon 8cx Gen 3 chipset, which had the article number SC8280.

The processor is being developed by a group of ex-Apple employees. The processor will receive 12 CPU cores (8 productive and 4 energy efficient). The chip will support LPDDR5X RAM, UFS 4.0 flash memory and a Snapdragon X65 5G modem. Since it is built on the basis of the 4th process technology, it is highly likely that the platform will be produced on the same process technology.

Qualcomm has previously stated that the new processor cores will be officially named Oryon. The timing of the start of mass production, the list of the first devices based on the new chip and the detailed technical characteristics of the SoC are still kept secret.
