Microsoft asks gamers if they're ready to switch to Xbox for Call of Duty
The battle between Microsoft and Sony for Activision Blizzard is in full swing. Recently, the press was able to learn that Microsoft has given the UK antitrust regulator fresh data at odds with past estimates of player consent to switch to Xbox for the storied action franchise.

Microsoft reportedly entered into an agreement with YouGov in January to conduct a survey of players regarding their willingness to switch to their console for CoD if the franchise's games become exclusive to that platform. As a result, the results turned out to be depressing: only 3% of respondents are ready for such actions.

This data differs significantly from the CMA survey, which showed that 24% of Call of Duty fans would want to switch to a competing platform if the shooter disappears from their console. But it's worth noting that CMA only polled die-hard fans of the series, while YouGov did it for regular PlayStation owners.

Microsoft is using the results to show that Activision Blizzard's shooter lineup is overpriced: brand weight is negligible to have a major impact on the competition between the Xbox and PS platforms. However, Microsoft reiterates that it has no plans to remove CoD from Sony's game consoles.
