A new patch for the popular action game will be released on April 11th. It will bring improvement in the quality of reflections and shadows with advanced ray tracing.
The new graphics mode will be called Overdrive. With it, RTX will be twisted to maximum performance. Thus, in the game, all light sources will cast physically correct soft shadows. Also, for indirect illumination and reflections, several beam refractions will be calculated, and not one. In addition, reflections will be calculated in full resolution, previously it was lower than the real one.
The mode was developed by CD Project Red in collaboration with NVIDIA engineers. It is likely that the user will need a PC with an RTX 40xx graphics card to play it. Exact system requirements will be announced later.
