The famous automaker made an electric car out of its no less famous brainchild.
The Nissan Skyline GT-R is known for its appearance in the arcade racing simulator Need fo Speed: Underground, as well as in the action movie 2 Fast 2 Furious, where it was driven by the late Paul Walker. The electric version of the car was named Nissan R32 GT-R EV.
The place of the classic internal combustion engine and standard gearbox will be taken by an electric motor with a traction battery. In the future, the company intends to make the electric version of its iconic car assembled on a turnkey basis commercial. The Japanese will report on other technical components in their own social networks.
The 8th generation of the Nissan Skyline GT-R was subtitled "Godzilla". The first car rolled off the assembly line in 1989. The model had a 2.6-liter RB26DETT engine with 276 hp. on board and a torque of 353 Nm. Also, the car was equipped with a 5-speed gearbox and 4 × 4 drive.
The car was produced in the period 1989-1994. A total of 43,937 units were produced.
