The portable game console received an important technical feature - the ability to connect external video cards.

ASUS ROG Ally received a 7" screen with a resolution of 1080p. The display refresh rate is 120 Hz, the aspect ratio is 16 by 9, and the maximum brightness is 500 nits. The chipset model is still unknown, but it is positioned as the fastest APU at the moment. There is also information that the processor has four Zen 4 cores and integrated graphics based on the RDNA 3 architecture.

To connect a third-party video card, the console uses the proprietary ROG XG port. The operating volume will be only 20 dB (Steam Deck has 37 dB). Also, the set-top box has smaller dimensions and weight compared to the competitor: 280×113×39 mm and 608 g (for the Valve set-top box 298×117×50.5 mm and 669 g).
