Take-Two Interactive and creators of GTA fan mods have settled a long-standing dispute
The publisher and authors of custom mods for GTA III and GTA: Vice City, though not completely, but resolved the conflict that arose in 2021.

Two years ago, Take-Two sued the creators of the re3 and reVC projects, calling for their work to be removed from the GitHub portal. The publisher considered that modders encroached on the intellectual property of the corporation. Modders also stated that they did not use the source codes of the original games in their modifications.

The pre-trial settlement of the dispute was announced in February, and the parties have now issued a joint statement. Thus, the parties will pay legal costs and the salaries of hired lawyers, each for itself. It must be said that Take-Two has ceased to have claims only to four sections of the process, the rest will be prosecuted for the time being.

The mass persecution of the authors of modifications for the legendary games started on the eve of the announcement of remasters of three classic series of the GTA Trilogy: Definitive Edition franchise. The release of the official remaster turned out to be a technical failure.
