The next season of The Last of Us was planned for 2025. But everything was prevented by a strike of scriptwriters

The unforeseen circumstances were reported by HBO producer Francesca Orsi.

As a result of the protest, work was suspended on such iconic shows as Stranger Things, as well as on the Marvel blockbuster Blade with Oscar winner Mahershalla Ali.



At the moment, The Last of Us showrunner Craig Mazin and original game writer Neil Druckman are not working on the series as they are participating in a writers' strike.

If everything goes on as usual, then filming will resume at the start of 2024.
