Several teams of enthusiasts are involved in the project. The work is officially supported by NVIDIA.
No fewer than four development teams are working on Half-Life 2 RTX: An RTX Remix Project, a remastered version of the legendary sci-fi first-person shooter. It is worth noting that the game will become not just a remaster with the addition of ray tracing, but will look more like a full-fledged remake, in which the graphics component will be reworked, the geometry will be supplemented, old special effects will be improved and new ones will be added. In addition, the game will support DLSS 3, Reflect and RTX IO technologies.
In the process, the creators of the remaster use the NVIDIA modding platform and improve the quality of textures using Valve Hammer tools.
So far, four teams are working on the project, but any modder who wants to can join them. The release date of the project is still unknown.
