The horror film based on the popular game series was not very popular with reviewers.
The first six reviews for Five Nights at Freddy's have appeared on the Metacritic portal, thanks to which the film's average score is only 30/100. Reviews note that the film was boring, predictable and not as interesting as the games in the series. A critic from The Irish Times compared the movie to Willy's Wonderland, starring Nicolas Cage, which used a similar plot. So, "Willy's Wonderland" can be considered an underrated masterpiece in comparison with Five Nights at Freddy's.
