YouTuber Not From Concrete created the console almost from scratch.

The blogger took a case with a volume of 3.3 liters, while for a regular set-top box it is 10.5 liters. It should be noted that the optical drive was moved to a separate module, which is connected via cable, but even with it, the console looks more compact than the original.

Inside the case there is an original motherboard with a chipset from PS5. He had to change the remaining elements. According to the blogger, the main reason for the large size of the PlayStation 5 Slim case is the heavy cooling system. Sony used a large fan in its console, thanks to which a reduced noise level was achieved: the larger the cooler, the quieter it is able to operate at lower speeds while providing the required level of cooling. The developer said that the existing cooling system operates at 30% of its potential, and the speed can only be switched in standard and high load modes. For its creation, Not From Concrete used a more compact 120mm cooler with speed control.

Also for the console, a third-party heatsink, a 250 W GaN power supply for a TFX format PC, and a 2 TB M.2 2230 SSD drive were taken. All elements were placed in a custom case created by the enthusiast himself. He also made his own stand with mounts for two gamepads with the ability to recharge them. The console also has a backlight.

As a result, the custom PS5 is able to fit under the monitor even in a vertical position, something that cannot be done with the original console.
