The actor himself has repeatedly participated in film adaptations of video games.

In a podcast for Total Film as part of the promotional campaign for the cartoon Kung Fu Panda 4, Jack Black (Jumanji, School of Rock), who voices the main character Po, said that he is perplexed by the lack of film adaptations of the GTA and RDR series from Rockstar Games. In his opinion, these games already look almost like films, which is why they don’t make films based on them.

Black also shared his opinion on the development of the video game and film industries. In his opinion, more combinations of games and movies will be released in the near future.

Jack Black himself has been involved in the creation of several video game adaptations. In particular, he voiced characters from The Super Mario Bros. Movie and the upcoming Borderlands. Next year, the actor will appear as the protagonist of Minecraft, Steve.

Interestingly, Rockstar has already received proposals for film adaptations of GTA and Red Dead Redemption. So, rapper Eminem could play the main role in the GTA 3 film. And in the film adaptation, the main role would have been given to Brad Pitt.
