Gameplay footage from an unreleased Batman game has leaked online.
The project was developed based on the trilogy of films about the Dark Knight by Christopher Nolan.

Footage and gameplay video of a game under the working title Project Apollo appeared on social networks. This game was based on Christopher Nolan's Batman, played by Christian Bale. The title was developed by Monolith Productions. Materials taken from various sources, including the authors' portfolios, were shared by user X (ex-Twitter) with the nickname SpideyRanger.

According to the creators' idea, the game would have an open world with the ability to move around it in a Batmobile, as well as stealth mechanics and a combat system similar to the Batman: Arkham series. In addition, the project was supposed to implement the Nemesis system, with the help of which opponents with individual characteristics would be generated. Thanks to it, villains would be able to “remember” clashes with Batman, and this would become a distinctive feature of the gameplay.

Project Apollo was canceled by Warner Bros. because the company decided that one Batman: Arkham game series would be enough. Monolith Productions also had difficulties with director Christopher Nolan: the director did not want to give the go-ahead to use some characters from the Dark Knight trilogy.

As a result, Project Apollo was remade into the game Middle-earth: Shadow of Mordor, which was released in the fall of 2014. In it, the Nemesis system itself was demonstrated for the first time.

Monolith Productions is currently developing a game about Wonder Woman, another DC Comics character. When the project will be released is still unknown.
