The wave of growing popularity of video game adaptations has also affected the popular SEGA title.
Amazon has taken on the adaptation of the cult action-adventure game Yakuza, released in 2006 on the PlayStation 2. The debut season will include 6 episodes, the plot will partly retell the events of the original game. The main character Kazuma Kiryu in the series will be played by Rema Takeuchi (“Blue Exorcist”), and Masaharu Take (“The Naked Director”) is in the director’s chair.
The first half of the season will be available on Amazon Prime Video streaming on October 25, and the second half on November 1.
