The new model in the Apple smartphone line will have a thin case.
The DigiTimes portal, citing its sources, reported that the iPhone 17 with the Slim prefix will receive a screen with a new OLED matrix, with the help of which the device will become flatter and thinner. The matrix will be produced by Novatek from China. The company recently presented the TDDI OLED display, where the touch screen and electronic components are combined into one whole. Thanks to this, the device's body will be thinner.
DigiTimes believes that before introducing the matrix into smartphones, Apple will test it on its other devices - for example, on the Apple Watch or iPad. The release of the iPhone 17 Slim should take place next year, as well as the release of the main iPhone 17 series. The device can replace the Plus version in the line or simply become an independent model.
