The video hosting service has a new feature — automatic dubbing of videos into different languages using artificial intelligence technologies. The tool was developed by teams from DeepMind and the Translator project, ensuring the integration of modern AI solutions.
Currently, automatic translation is available for videos recorded in English, with dubbing into languages such as French, German, Hindi, Indonesian, Italian, Japanese, Portuguese and Spanish. In addition, translation can work in the opposite direction. It is planned that the list of supported languages will be expanded.
Content authors can pre-evaluate the quality of the translation in YouTube Studio before publishing the video. Even after uploading the video, it is possible to delete the created dubbing if it does not suit you for some reason.
The new option has already become available for hundreds of thousands of channels, especially those that release educational videos. In the future, it is planned to extend the technology to other types of video materials, which promises to make the platform even more convenient for an international audience.
