Although the relationship between Polish writer Andrzej Sapkowski and CD Projekt RED has long been considered strained, the developers of The Witcher 4 have assured that this is not true. According to them, they maintain friendly contact with the author of the Witcher universe, despite the fact that he does not participate in the development of the game.
The creators emphasized that Sapkowski does not act as a consultant or in any other format. However, the studio regularly discusses individual aspects of the universe with him, demonstrating their work. During such meetings, mutual understanding is achieved and an atmosphere of trust is maintained, which allows CD Projekt RED to continue developing the world of The Witcher without the author's interference.
Earlier, Sapkowski visited the studio, where he was presented with some elements of the development of the new game. This event was a pleasant moment for the employees and showed that, despite his absence, the relationship between the parties remains constructive.
The Witcher 4, which will star Ciri, is not expected to be released until 2026.
