GSC Game World studio has confirmed that a version of the shooter for Sony consoles is not in development. In a conversation with Tech4Gamers, the head of the company Evgeny Grigorovich noted that the team is fully focused on creating and supporting the game for PC and Xbox Series X/S.
Grigorovich also declined to comment on rumors about the possible 3-month exclusivity of the project for Xbox. However, his statements confirm that there are currently no plans to release the game on PlayStation 5.
However, many experts do not rule out that GSC may reconsider its position in the future. This is due to the significant number of PlayStation 5 users, which is approximately twice the audience of the Xbox Series.
Most likely, the restriction is due to agreements with Microsoft, since the Xbox platform is actively promoting S.T.A.L.K.E.R. 2 as part of its line of exclusives. Any discussions of release on other platforms may violate the terms of the current agreement.
