Unexpected circumstances have forced Amazon Studios to suspend production on the second season of its hit series based on the iconic gaming franchise. The cause was the devastating wildfires that broke out in the Pacific Palisades region on January 7.
The fires quickly spread to neighboring areas, forcing more than 30,000 people, including Hollywood celebrities, to evacuate their homes. The fires are exacerbated by the lack of rain - only 4 mm of precipitation has fallen in the region since the summer. The situation is further complicated by strong winds reaching speeds of 130 km/h.
Amazon Studios was not the only company to suspend work: other film studios have also decided to temporarily postpone their projects.
The sequel promises to focus on the fate of New Vegas - an iconic metropolis familiar to fans from the 2010 game Fallout: New Vegas. Fans have long dreamed of seeing this city in the adaptation, but rumors of possible changes to the canon have raised concerns among some audiences.
