Doom: The Dark Ages Devs Ditch Multiplayer for Massive Campaign
The team working on the shooter said that they completely abandoned the multiplayer mode in order to focus on creating the highest quality single-player campaign. This decision allowed the developers to invest all their resources in polishing the plot and expanding the mechanics.

According to the studio representatives, the new campaign will be the largest in the series. The abandonment of multiplayer made it possible to add innovations to the shooter that could not be implemented previously due to limitations. Among the new elements are dragon flights and epic battles with the participation of a huge mech. These ideas had been incubated for a long time, but for the first time they were fully implemented thanks to the focus on a single-player experience.

Doom: The Dark Ages will be released on May 15 on PC, Xbox Series X/S and PS5. The game will also be available in the Game Pass subscription. Owners of premium editions will be able to start playing two days earlier.
