SEGA and Sports Interactive have announced that they are shutting down Football Manager 25, which was originally scheduled to be released in November 2024 and then in March 2025. The reason for this was the difficulties that arose when the game was transitioning to the Unity engine.
The developers were aiming to create the biggest technical and visual breakthrough in the last ten years, but they encountered a number of problems. Despite the fact that many elements of the game have already reached the required level, the interface and overall user experience were far from the desired result. As a result, the team decided not to release the game in an unfinished form, since the release in March does not fit into the current football season.

Having abandoned FM 25, Sports Interactive will fully focus on developing the next part of the series. Everyone who pre-ordered the game will automatically receive a refund. At the same time, Football Manager 24 will no longer receive updates, since all the efforts of the developers are aimed at creating a new game.
