Despite the expected improvements in the iPhone 17 line, one of the key shortcomings of Apple smartphones, related to the charging speed, will remain unchanged, according to insiders.
According to industry expert Jeff Pu, all versions of the iPhone 17, including the Pro Max, will have support for wired charging with a power of up to 35 watts. Although this figure cannot be called low, it is still noticeably inferior to modern Android devices that offer support for 100-watt chargers even in the mid-price segment.

Even when connected to more powerful adapters, the iPhone 17 will not be able to use their full potential. The limitations of the device controller will allow it to receive only a little more than 30 watts, which will not lead to faster charging.
As for MagSafe wireless charging, the insider did not report any planned changes. At the moment, the iPhone 16 series supports up to 25 watts when using MagSafe, and, apparently, the iPhone 17 will retain the same power level.

So Apple will still lag behind its competitors when it comes to charging speed, focusing on other features like processor power and camera quality.
