Gothic Remake developers have released a new playable prologue, allowing fans to try out the updated gameplay

Five years ago, Alkimia Interactive and THQ Nordic announced the creation of a remake of the cult German RPG Gothic, presenting an unusual teaser in the form of a full-fledged demo on Steam. Now the developers have once again pleased fans by releasing the next trial version of the project.

As part of the Next Fest festival, a playable prologue of Gothic Remake, called Nyras Prologue, appeared on the Steam platform. It focuses on the adventures of Nyras, a completely new character who also found himself in a harsh fantasy prison.



Interestingly, this demo (or its early version) was shown to journalists back in 2023. Then, representatives of the press noted significant changes in the gameplay mechanics compared to the original Gothic Playable Teaser. Now fans will be able to appreciate the updated approach to the classic RPG.

The prologue is available not only on Steam, but also on GOG, and both versions include localization into Russian. Despite the fresh demo, the exact release date of the full version of Gothic Remake remains unknown. It is expected that the release will take place before the end of this year on PC, PS5 and Xbox Series X|S.
