NVIDIA announced that a demo of Half-Life 2 RTX, a fan remaster of the legendary shooter, will be available to the public on March 18. The update is being developed by Orbifold Studios, a studio formed by three modders who previously created amateur remakes of the second part.

Half-Life 2 RTX will receive full ray tracing, updated high-resolution textures, improved reflections and dynamic shadows. The project will also support NVIDIA technologies, including DLSS 4 for frame generation and Reflex to reduce latency.
The release date of the full version of the remaster is still unknown.
