Silent Hill f, the first game in the series to take place in Japan, was recently announced. Although it takes place in a fictional city, fans quickly discovered real locations that could have inspired the authors.
During the presentation of the project, screenwriter Ryukishi07 mentioned that the basis for the city in the game was Kanayama, a small town in Gifu Prefecture. User X with the nickname sinonomeimori was the first to notice familiar places and shared photos. Later, other gamers joined him, starting to find more and more coincidences.
Kanayama really looks like a real horror: narrow streets, abandoned houses, dark alleys and steep climbs create an atmosphere of desolation. Of particular interest were the stairs and buildings that were shown in the debut trailer.
The game is being developed by NeoBards Entertainment, and Akira Yamaoka will create the soundtrack. The horror game will be released on PC, PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X/S, but the exact release date has not yet been announced.
