The company continues to look for new ways to improve the gaming experience and, based on a recent discovery by enthusiasts, is considering the possibility of creating a gamepad with solar batteries. A patent called Operation Device was discovered online, which describes a technology for wirelessly charging a gamepad using built-in photovoltaic cells.

According to the document, the panels will be located around the sticks and keys, and to recharge, you just need to leave the device in the light. Such a system will help avoid sudden discharge during the game and will save users from having to constantly change batteries or connect a wired charger.
However, despite the many interesting ideas in Sony's patent database, not all of them reach the stage of a commercial product. It remains to be seen whether this innovative gamepad will become a reality.
