Samsung has registered a patent for a new concept of a folding smartphone that can bend in both directions - inward and outward. Unlike classic clamshells, the new design includes a hinge mechanism that allows the display to fold 360 degrees.

According to the documentation, the device is equipped with special support inserts that prevent damage to the screen when bending. Additional magnets fix the position of the smartphone, ensuring the stability of the structure. When folded, most of the display remains inside the case, but a small part of it remains open in the area of the camera, which may allow it to be used as an auxiliary screen for notifications or quick access to information.

The technical characteristics of the device, as well as the possible timing of its announcement, are still unknown.
