Ubisoft is expanding the Tom Clancy's Rainbow Six franchise - according to journalist Tom Henderson, the studio is working on a turn-based tactical game, the events of which will take place in the world of Rainbow Six Siege.
The title is being created for PC, PS5, Xbox Series X|S and quite possibly for the upcoming Nintendo Switch 2. The exact release date has not yet been announced, but the launch is scheduled for the next couple of years.

According to the leak, the game will have a top-down view in the style of XCOM or Diablo 4 and will allow you to take control of fighters from the original Rainbow Six Siege roster. Battles will be accompanied by cinematic inserts, and the total time of passage will be 25-30 hours.
This is not Ubisoft's first attempt to introduce turn-based mechanics into its video game series. In 2011, the studio already released Ghost Recon: Shadow Wars on Nintendo 3DS, created with the participation of Julian Gollop, one of the authors of the original XCOM.
At the same time, Ubisoft is working on Rainbow Six Siege: X, an updated version of the popular shooter. The release will take place on June 10, 2025. The game will be made free, the visuals, destruction and animations will be improved, and a new “Double Front” mode with original respawn points and dynamic tasks will be added.
