Despite the prolonged silence, the Assassin’s Creed TV series is still in active development. New information about the project has appeared in the Writers Guild of America database, confirming that the adaptation of the iconic game franchise is moving forward.
The show is being produced by experienced professionals: Claire Kiechel, who worked on Acolyte and Westworld, as well as Roberto Patino, David M. Weiner and Jaquin Castellanos are among the showrunners and producers. Sanaz Thusi, Emily St. John Mandel, Sam Reynolds, Daniel Goldberg and Tom Hemmings have joined the script.
It is not yet known what stage of the Brotherhood’s history will be discussed - whether it will be a reboot with new characters or a continuation of familiar storylines. The cast remains a secret, but it is known that the project is being developed in partnership with Ubisoft and Netflix. The premiere is expected this or next year.
