Well-known modder FMPONE confirmed on his Twitter account that the developers approached him with an offer to buy the rights to the location immediately after the map was added to the Steam Workshop in late March.
Cache, which features a unique Soviet aesthetic of an abandoned industrial facility and a balanced design, has become a cult favorite among players since the days of CS:GO. Analysis of the code for the latest CS2 update indicates that the map will soon be included in the official list of maps for the game.
