MindsEye developers accuse competitors of organizing the project's persecution
Mark Gerhard, a former GTA developer and co-founder of Build A Rocket Boy, has come forward to say that a campaign has been organized against their new game, MindsEye. In a Discord chat, he directly accused certain "interested parties" of organizing a flood of negative reviews after the publication of the first previews of the project, created with the participation of Leslie Benzies, known for his work on Grand Theft Auto and Red Dead Redemption.

Gerhard claims that he can easily identify bots and repeated critical comments under any content related to the game. Although he did not name specific organizers of the alleged conspiracy, analysts link these accusations with the possible involvement of Rockstar Games and Take-Two Interactive, with whom Benzies has had a tense relationship since leaving.

Despite inquiries from Eurogamer, neither Build A Rocket Boy nor publisher IO Interactive have provided official comments regarding these claims. MindsEye, a cyberpunk action game featuring the former producer of cult Rockstar projects, will be released on June 10 on PC, PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series, but the first impressions of journalists were indeed restrained - many noted the outdated gameplay and the need for improvements.
