According to Deadline, Amazon MGM Studios is in the final stages of negotiations to buy the rights to adapt the popular video game Split Fiction from Hazelight Studios (the creators of A Way Out and It Takes Two) for the big screen. The deal, according to sources, exceeds $2 million, while Sony Pictures also participated in the competition for the rights.
The project has already found its main creators: Rhett Reese and Paul Wernick (creators of Deadpool and Wolverine) will be the screenwriters, Jon M. Chu (Wicked) will sit in the director's chair, and one of the main roles will go to Sydney Sweeney (Euphoria). It is currently unclear which of the heroines - Zoe or Mio - Sweeney will take on, but casting for the second role is already underway.

The plot of the film, like the original game, will tell about the adventures of two writers who find themselves in the worlds they created - fantasy and sci-fi. Split Fiction, which was released on March 6, 2025, has already sold over 4 million copies and received critical acclaim for its unique blend of genres and narrative devices.
