The sequel to the Mortal Kombat film, scheduled for release on October 25, 2025, has already received rave reviews from early viewers. According to screenwriter Jeremy Slater, test screenings of the film are sold out, and the fans' reaction is reminiscent of the one at the premiere of Avengers: Endgame.
Slater shared his impressions of the screenings, noting that viewers jump out of their seats, applaud key moments and warmly greet every joke. "This is one of the best moments of my career," the screenwriter admitted, adding that it is for such emotions that he works in the film industry.

After the mixed reception of the first part of 2021, the creators of Mortal Kombat 2 have focused on large-scale battle scenes and fidelity to the spirit of the original game. Filming has already been completed, and the team is now busy choosing the perfect release date. It remains to wait until autumn to see if the sequel will be able to meet the high expectations of not only the test audience, but also the general public.
