The debut game of the Build a Rocket Boy studio, founded by former GTA and Red Dead Redemption producer Leslie Benzies, has suffered a complete collapse. MindsEye, which was released last week, received devastating reviews from gaming publications - on Metacritic at the moment its average score is 37, and on OpenCritic it has dropped to 34.

Critics unanimously note numerous technical problems, unclear gameplay and a very large, but absolutely empty open world, which does not fit at all with the linear structure of the story campaign. Journalists GamingBolt described the project as "an example of a title where style is more important than substance", and reviewers of Push Square even called MindsEye "a broken parody of a video game", criticizing the archaic mechanics and the discrepancy between the scale of the map and the declared genre.
The situation is no better among ordinary players - on Steam the project is literally littered with negative reviews, and on social networks users are massively posting videos with numerous bugs and technical flaws. Thus, the first independent project of a famous developer not only did not live up to expectations, but became one of the most high-profile failures of the year in the gaming industry.
