Battlefield 2042 Will Get an Unexpected Crossover with Mass Effect
EA has announced an unusual collaboration between Battlefield 2042 and the iconic Mass Effect franchise. On June 17, the DICE shooter will receive specialized content, including N7-style armor, weapon designs inspired by the Mass Effect universe, and other futuristic elements. The materials will be provided as two different packs and one combined pack.
The reasons for such a crossover are still unclear - no major events are planned for the Mass Effect franchise in the near future, except for the ongoing production of Mass Effect 5 and the previously announced TV series. For Battlefield 2042, this is not the debut experience of similar collaborations - in the past, the title has already received content in collaboration with Dead Space.
Despite the disastrous start, DICE does not stop supporting Battlefield 2042, while simultaneously developing a new part of the series - Battlefield 6. The studio is currently conducting large-scale testing to take into account past mistakes and offer players a more polished product.
