According to insiders, Apple plans to radically update the MacBook line in 2026, equipping the flagship models with OLED displays using technology similar to that used in the iPad Pro. Unlike tablets, laptop screens will receive a small cutout, presumably for the FaceTime camera. More affordable MacBook Airs are expected to use single-layer OLED panels with a simplified design.

In addition to the transition to OLED, the new MacBooks will become thinner and will receive Apple M6 processors manufactured using a 2-nanometer process technology. These changes should significantly improve image quality, energy efficiency, and performance of the devices, continuing the trend of miniaturizing components while increasing power. The updated models are expected to be presented at Apple's annual event in 2026.
