Developers from Arrowhead Game Studios have officially announced the upcoming release of the popular co-op shooter Helldivers 2 on Xbox Series X/S consoles. The game, which became one of the biggest hits of 2024, will appear in the arsenal of Microsoft console owners on August 26, 2025, maintaining full cross-platform compatibility with the existing versions for PlayStation 5 and PC.
Pre-orders for the new platform are already open: the basic version is priced at $40, and the expanded edition with additional content is $60. Early buyers will receive three exclusive armor sets as a bonus. The Xbox version will have no technical differences from the original release, providing the same gaming experience on all platforms.
Recall that the initial launch of Helldivers 2 in February 2024 was accompanied by a scandal when publisher Sony tried to restrict access to the PC version via Steam in countries without PSN support. After a wave of criticism from the gaming community, the company was forced to reverse this decision, setting a new standard for its multi-platform projects.
